Getting started

How do I invite someone to my household?

Open Household and tap Invite someone. Share the link, show them the QR code, or give them the code on screen. Invites work for 7 days.

If they install the app from your link and don't land in your household, they can enter the code from the setup screen.

Can I add my kids without giving them accounts?

Yes. On the Who's eating screen, add a person without an account. They get a name and a diet profile so the planner knows about them, and nothing else.

Can I be in more than one household?

Yes. Switch between households from the top of the Household screen. Each one keeps its own recipes, plan, and list.

Claude and your calendar

How do I connect Claude?

In Claude, add Weeknight from the connectors directory and sign in with the same account you use in the app. If you belong to more than one household, you'll choose which one to connect.

Each person in your household connects their own Claude. Changes show who asked for them.

How do I set up the Meals calendar?

In Google Calendar, create a new calendar named Meals. Share it, and your Family calendar if you have one, with everyone in your household. Then ask Claude to set up your calendars and confirm which is which.

Claude reads your Family calendar while planning, and only writes meals and reminders to Meals.

Claude changed something I didn't want. How do I undo it?

Open Activity from the grocery list or the Household screen, find the change, and tap Undo. You can also ask Claude to undo its last change.

Do I need Claude to use Weeknight?

No. The planner, recipes, and shared list all work on their own.

Food safety and allergies

Allergy warnings are a helper, not a guarantee. Weeknight matches ingredients against the allergies you enter and can miss hidden ingredients, like anchovy in Worcestershire sauce or nuts in pesto. Always read labels, especially for serious allergies.

Where do the fridge times come from?

From FoodSafety.gov's storage guidance for a refrigerator at 40°F or below. Weeknight always uses the shortest time in each range. When in doubt, throw it out.

Subscriptions

How do I cancel?

On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Weeknight. On Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions. If you subscribed on our website, email us and we'll cancel it.

I paid but the app still shows the free plan.

Open Household, tap Subscription, then Restore purchases. The plan belongs to the household, so it covers everyone in it once restored.

Your account and data

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Household, then Account, then Delete account. This removes your account and your diet profile right away and permanently deletes your data within 30 days.

If you're the only member of a household, the household and its recipes are deleted too. If others remain, the household stays with them. You can take a copy of the recipes before you go.

Can't open the app? Email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

Can I export my recipes?

Yes. Open Recipes, tap the menu, and choose Export. You'll get a file you can keep or import elsewhere.
